STATEMENTS OF PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS

The Oregon Pupil Transportation Association Board of Directors are leaders in the school transportation community.

Honesty and Integrity

OPTA Board members should strive to maintain the highest standards of honesty and integrity, both personally and professionally. Remember that you are OPTA to its members.

Interpersonal Relationships

OPTA Board members should strive to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships, especially with other Board members. Clear up misunderstanding quickly so that you and your fellow Board members will be able to work more effectively.

Teamwork

OPTA board members are expected to work as a team and should welcome every opportunity to do so.

Loyalty

OPTA Board members are expected to support any decision made by the Board.

Patience

OPTA Board members should be patient and tactful especially with those who seem to be unreasonable or who do not understand association policies, procedures or programs.

Attendance

OPTA Board members should make every effort to attend Board and other Association- related meetings. Your attendance will be viewed as a reflection of your attitude and your commitment to the Association

Appearance and Conduct

Members often form opinions of OPTA based on the appearance and conduct of Board members. It is therefore imperative that Board members present a professional appearance when representing OPTA.

Member Service

Each OPTA Board member should support OPTA in its endeavors to improve current services and expand service options to transportation professionals.
